Mobile Apps are Pushing Google Out of the Spotlight

There is no doubt that mobile devices have changed the way that people thinking, understand, and share information. The mobile devices mostly impact on Web. Now all businesses are optimizing their website for both – computer as well as for Mobile, this is because of an ever-growing number of consumers accessing the web on the go.

Most of the people are using Geolocation Apps on their mobile to search local business. The main feature of Geolocation is its allowing users to narrow their search for a very specific goal. Search engine is on other hand which provides you thousands of result for search item but it doesn’t always direct you to one place to find all the information you need.

The Yelp CEO Jeremy Stoppelman said that “We do derive a lot of traffic from search engines, particularly Google. We’ve said in the past it’s about 50 percent. We continue to see really nice growth there, on the web site, both including direct traffic, people typing in the URL, and navigational traffic …. Then of course on mobile, that represents a very new distribution channel for us, and one where we have a much more intimate relationship with consumer because they’ve chosen to download the app. They’re much more engaged, we’re now a button on their screen. That actually disintermediates search. We like that trend.”

SmartPhone’s user experience can change buyer behavior to use SmartPhone for searches as SmartPhones are offering  rich mobile apps to search local businesss , which Google does not offering. In today’s world people are moving towards SmartPhones and also more likely to use those apps instead of searching for the company on Google.
